  1. Not every Pair of old Shoes is Not every Pair of old Shoes is meant to be thrown out meant to be thrown out Many of us value certain items, such as a piece of clothing, or an object – even when the time has come to exchange it for another. Therefore shoe repair, for example, is an option for many instead of getting rid of that old pair that you’ve had for a long time and that you feel you want to wear for another year –or years. Of course this also applies to newer shoes and other items. They may simply have been damaged even though they may be relatively new. Different people have different reasons for wanting to have old – or broken, or damaged – items repaired. Very often it is a matter of budget, of not wanting to waste, that prompts people to have their items fixed instead of getting rid of them. Shoe repairsare a perfect example. Few things are cheap today, including shoes – especially if you like fashionable brand names. Even those that do not represent the famous names can be costly, especially if you have to replace them whereas repairs may be much more practical, cheaper. Ask any woman that owns a few pairs of expensive shoes – also men – and you will find that replacing these shoes can become costly. It becomes more complicated when you have children. Everybody wears shoes, boots – some of them made from fine, expensive leather. It is a simple fact that shoes, like clothes and other objects do not last forever; therefore shoe repairs become necessary at some point if you want to save money by not buying a new pair immediately.

  2. Often the issue is relatively small and you would be saving yourself a lot of money by simply taking the shoe or shoes to a cobbler instead of spending a lot of money on a new pair. We all know that at times only one of the pair in question needs attention. Think, for example, of the pair of which one has a broken heel, or some loose stitching. The same applies to the sole of the shoe. It makes sense to consider shoe repairs when you have these problems since it is far less expensive when compared to buying a new pair – since you can’t buy one only, as we know. Having a shoe repaired is, at best, a small irritation when compared to buying new shoes. You simply get in touch with a cobbler, leave the shoe with them for a day or a few days, and you fetch it again. Good cobblers know what they do and very often we do not know the difference between the old and the repaired shoe. Good cobblers have the experience and knowledge that qualify them to offer us shoe repairs. The good ones are actually able to take on more complicated repair jobs as well, such as repairing broken straps, repairing difficult areas on the shoe where you may have scratched the surface of the shoe against the steps at your house or against the garden hedge – anywhere for that matter. Because surface damage can look ugly we may be tempted to buy new shoes.

  3. This may not always be necessary since the cobbler may be able to help. It is, for him, a fairly small job, and for you the difference between paying a huge amount for a new pair and paying him a relatively small amount. Shoe repairs may actually include additional services such as having your old pair dyed, for example, to ensure you have a new pair anyway. Many people – women more so than men – do this all the time. When you get tired of an old pair, or a certain colour, you take the shoes to a cobbler that offers a dyeing service. It’s actually quite uncomplicated: Once your shoes are old and tired, think twice before getting rid of them. Repairs may be a great option to help you save some money.
