  2. What do we mean by Digital India? Digital India is an initiative of Government of India to integrate the Government departments and the people of India. It aims at ensuring the Government services are made available to citizens electronically by reducing paper work. This initiative also includes plan to connect rural areas with high-speed-internet networks.

  3. When was Digital India launched ? Digital India was launched on 1 July 2015(6 years ago) by our nation’s current prime minister Shri Narendra Modi

  4. Why was digital India launched? Interacting with the beneficiaries of various Digital India initiatives across the country in June 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that Digital India was launched to ensure that people from all walks of life, especially those from rural areas, are digitally empowered.

  5. What message does digital India gives us ? The Digital India programme itself promises to transform India into a digitally empowered society by focusing on digital literacy, digital resources, and collaborative digital platforms. This also places emphasis on universal digital literacy and availability of digital resources/services in Indian languages.
