  1. How do we choose the perfect beach and time for the wedding?

  2. Ever wondered what is the process that goes in picking the beach for your wedding? • The number one rule is that not all beaches are created equal, and with that having been said here is what we look for when choosing the perfect spot for your Seychelles Beach Wedding.

  3. Intimacy over popularity • The majority of couples are looking for small, intimate ceremonies. You may already be thinking that this can be tricky to execute, considering that all the beaches in Seychelles are public. • However, the key is to avoid the popular beaches as much as possible.

  4. For example, rather than hosting a wedding at Beau Vallon beach, which is a very popular beach for both tourists and local alike, we will host the wedding at Mare Anglaise which is just a couple of minutes away, and less frequented.

  5. We will also avoid beaches that are located inside the resorts of Hotels, as again, these beaches are popular with tourists who are staying at the hotel.

  6. Drive time to and from the accommodation • Another important factor is how far you will be driving to and from the wedding location. • With all the bents, curves, ups and downs that the Seychelles roads have we need to ensure that the driving time is always minimal in order to avoid travel sickness.

  7. Low Tide • Probably the most important detail to factor in –Tide movements. We all have seen the pictures of the big waves crashing in the background, or the bride and groom running in the clear blue seas. Believe it or not, these are always taken at the very end of the photoshoots.

  8. Once the ceremony is over, champagne has been drunk, and the cake cutting has taken place, because at the end of the day, nobody wants to Get Married with waters reaching up to their knees, and dragging all the decorations away.

  9. That is a wedding planner’s worse fear, and probably just as terrifying for the brides. • This is why the very first factor we take into account when choosing a wedding location or wedding time is the tide.

  10. That is also why sometimes couples have to compromise on the wedding times they would have preferred.

  11. Every month the local meteorological office releases new tide schedules, which allows us to accurately predict what would be the best time to host your Seychelles beach wedding, without having to worry about tides.

  12. Attending several weddings per day and tying approximately two dozen knots a week, it’s no surprise that your celebrant will have the final say when it comes to the wedding time and location.

  13. After all, they need to make sure that your wedding will not clash with another one they have, and that they will make it to you on time when coming from the previous wedding.

  14. Sea weeds and winds Direction • With Seychelles being a tropical country, it is often hard to predict with accuracy the weather, or the wind directions. However, we try our best based of past patterns.

  15. When it comes to sea weeds we have noticed that it tends to float ashore on one side of the island, making both the sea and wind more intense on that side whilst the other side stays perfectly calm and free from mountains of sea weeds.

  16. During the North West monsoon, this is during Mid-November, up until March — we keep a close eye on the beaches located on the north and East side, such as the North East Point Beach or Grand Anse Beach.

  17. From May to November, which is the South East Monsoon, we in turn monitor beaches in the East and South areas, such as the Takamka beach or BaieLazare.

  18. When couples talk about a Seychelles beach wedding, the picture that comes to minds are blue skies, white sand and the gentle sound of waves crashing. • However, few knows of the process that goes behind picking the ideal spot and time to make sure this dream comes a reality.
