Abu Dhabi ITC Forms Global Partnerships to Advance Smart Autonomous Mobility New agreements at DRIFTx 2025 boost autonomous transport, digital infrastructure to support UAE’s upcoming mobility visualization. During DRIFTx 2025, that took place on the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week 2025 presented by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC), the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport engaged in a series of collaboration agreements with a number of international and local organizations. The agreements represent an ongoing effort by ITC, into collaboration with SASC, to develop a smart and integrated mobility network that advances Abu Dhabi’s vision for the future through collaborations related to autonomous systems and operational applications in advanced air mobility, marine transport and autonomous logistics, and collaborations in digital infrastructure and next generation connectivity. Dr. Abdulla Hamad, Acting Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre, said: “These agreements underscore ITC’s pivotal role in leading the transition towards smart and sustainable mobility in Abu Dhabi and in developing capabilities in autonomous driving and self-operated logistics across air, land, and sea. Through strategic partnerships with national and international entities, we aim to adopt innovative solutions, including advanced communications networks and smart infrastructure, operating autonomous buses and trucks, deploying heavy-lift drones, and studying and operating electric marine vessels, to ensure the highest levels of safety and efficiency, further strengthening the Emirate’s global standing.” The ICT and Cyber Security Council established a cooperative agreement to strengthen collaboration in the field of ICT cybersecurity and ultimately grow national capabilities to protect Abu Dhabi's smart and autonomous mobility ecosystem. This partnership is a model of joint collaboration, pooling the support of partners to build a safe digital future that supports the digital transformation of the country sharing skills and threat Intel as well as coordinating incident responses, joint technical exercises and workshops. In addition, the ITC signed a cooperative agreement with SkyDrive, one of the world's leading Japanese manufacturers of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, to advance applications of advanced air mobility in Abu Dhabi.
