The Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) is an Indian electronic system based power trading exchange regulated by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC). IEX started its operations on 27 June 2008. Indian Energy Exchange pioneered the development of power trading in India and provides an electronic platform to the various participants in power market, comprising State Electricity Boards, Power producers, Power Traders and Open Access Consumers (both Industrial & Commercial).

  2. About IEX • The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission oversees the Indian Energy Exchange (IEX), an electronic system-based power trading exchange in India (CERC). The IEX began conducting business on June 27, 2008. owerproducers, State Electricity Boards, Power Traders, and Open Access Consumers are just a few of the various participants in the power market that are served by the Indian Energy Exchange, which was a pioneer in the development of power trading in India (both Industrial & Commercial). • One of India's two active power exchanges is called IEX. Since its founding, it has possessed a sizable market share. With more than 3,800 registered clients, more than 300 private generators, and more than 3,300 industrial energy consumers, IEX runs a day-ahead market based on controlled auctions with double-sided bidding and uniform pricing.
