The Scindia Boarding School in India

The Scindia Residential Boys School is one of the India's leading boarding school. The 12 house systems in Scindia School has it's own identity and history. The personality of the Housemaster is usually reflected in everything that a House stands for. We have four Houses in Junior School and eight in the Senior School. The alumni remain very strongly attached to their Houses all their lives. The Scinida School is know for 121 years of legacy with strong values and beliefs.

  2. HOUSES Like the cells make the fundamental structure of a living body the House system of The Scindia School forms the DNA. The twelve Houses follow certain common norms yet each manages to establish and maintain a very special identity of its own. The identity often does not change over several generations of students and teachers who become part of the House. ‘House’ in The Scindia School is not just a building but an entity with a soul of its own.

  3. RANOJI HOUSE Who was Ranoji? RanojiShinde came from an ancient Kshatriya family. The family of RanojiShinde became Patils or Headmen of Kanerkhed village, Satara District in Maharashtra. RanojiShinde’s father JankojiShinde was in BalajiVishwanath’s service and Ranoji himself was brought up as a friend of BajiRaoVishwanath. In 1722 Ranoji was made the Commander of the Maratha Army that went to Malwa.

  4. JAYAJI HOUSE Who was Jayaji? After a long period of turmoil His Highness Maharaja JayajiraoScindia provided stability to the State of Gwalior. JayajiraoScindia was born BhagirathShinde, son of HanumantraoShinde on 19 January 1835. After the death of His Highness JankojiraoScindia II, in 1843, his widow Tara Bai adopted BhagirathRao, who became the ruler of Gwalior under the name of His Highness Maharaja JayajiraoScindia on 22 February 1843.

  5. JEEVAJI HOUSE Who was Jeevaji? His Highness JeevajiraoScindia lost his father when he was nine years old. He recognized the importance of representative institutions. He followed his father’s legacy and undertook a number of measures to relieve the financial burdens of the farmers, established educational institutions, libraries, and hospitals for women and children.
