  2. What are we learning today? What is data….. When data becomes information….. In what ways data can be represented….. The way the computer stores data…….

  3. What is Data? Data is a collection of facts, such as numbers, words, measurements, observations or even just descriptions of things. Two simple techniques to find out if you have data…. Anything you can write down in a list is data. Describe an object in the real world….. A cat…..a boat…..a house…..Mr.K…. You will describe these by using data you know about the object!

  5. Data becomes information once if is meaningful for a person to make decision or act upon it.

  9. How does a computer store data? The brain of the computer can understand one language. This brain is called the CPU (Central Processing Unit). We discuss this in SL. That language is not English, Chinese or Dutch. Nor can it understands pictures, sounds etc. Its language is math, to be more precisely, a dialect in math called binary. The language with only two words, 0 and 1.
