  1. Staying Prepared for Emergency Burn Treatments Being prepared is a constant state of being for all Paramedics. They have to be ready to respond at a moment’s notice to a wide variety of emergency situations. One of the most serious and life altering injuries Paramedics treat is burns. While minor burns can be treated at home by running cold water over the burn, more serious burns require emergency care and surgery. With Sands Canada, you will always be ready to treat burn victims with the highest quality first-aid supplies Canada available. We have been in business for thirty years, providing EMS supplies Canada to Paramedic services, police departments, and fire departments. 2. Severity of Burns Burns are divided into severity categories known as degrees. Descriptions of those categories are: First-Degree Burn Second-Degree Burn Third-Degree Burn Fourth-Degree Burn • • • • First-Degree Burn These burns are tender and painful to the touch and the skin is red. They don’t have any blisters associated with them and typically heal in a few days without treatment. They are often associated with a mild sun burn. Second-Degree Burn These are also red and painful, but they also have blisters associated with them. Fluid will leak from the blisters if pressure is applied to them. Third-Degree Burn These are a far more serious type of burn where the dermis and epidermis have been completely burned away. The site appears charred or white. The area burned will lack sensation as the nerves have been severely damaged. Fourth-Degree Burn The most severe type of burn, fourth-degree burns destroy skin and deep tissues such as bone and muscle. In Conclusion At Sands Canada, we provide Paramedics with the best burn treatment equipment available. We are dedicated to offering the best equipment and supplies available.
