  2. What is plastic extrusion? Plastic extrusion is a high-volume manufacturing process during which raw plastic is melted and made into endless profile. Extrusion produces items like pipe/tubing, weather-stripping, fencing, deck railings, window frames, film and sheeting, thermoplastic coatings, and wire insulation. This process begins by inserting plastic material (pellets, granules, flakes or powder) from the hopper into the extruder's barrel. The fabric is rotated slowly and melted by the energy generated by the warmers arranged along the barrel.
