  1. What is the Difference Between Sadaqah Jariyah and Sadaqah? Make a difference - DONATE your sadaqah now Sadaqah Jariyah is the act of voluntary ongoing charity and is one of the easiest ways to help those in need around the world. We rely on the kindness and generosity of our donors to ensure that these individuals are supported on both a short-term and long-term basis. Sadaqah Jariyah Explained In Islam, there are many forms of ongoing charity, including Zakat and Sadaqah. While both types of charity are encouraged, there are important differences. Zakat is an obligatory act of charity that forms one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Sadaqah, on the other hand, is entirely voluntary, and brings a range of benefits to both the recipient and the donor. Sadaqah can be broken down into two categories: Sadaqah Sadaqah describes a voluntary charitable act towards another being, whether through generosity, love, compassion or faith. These acts are not always physical or monetary; simple things like a good deed, a helping hand, a smile, guiding others towards the right path and preventing evil are all seen as acts of Sadaqah. These acts are carried out with Allah SWT in mind. info@sktwelfare.org +44 (0) 300 3020 786

  2. Sadaqah Jariyah Sadaqah jariya describes charitable acts that are both voluntary and ongoing, to benefits others for today and for the future, too. These acts hold more benefit for the recipients, and, as such, can benefit the donor, too. The Benefits of Sadaqah in Islam In Islam, there are many sadaqah jariyah ahadith that describe the benefits of these acts. It is believed by many that the reward for these acts is so great that is can continue long after an individual has passed, so long as the benefits of the act continue to be felt by others. Sadaqah offers shade on the Day of Judgement On the Day of Judgement, the burning sun will be right above our heads and everyone will want to sit under the shade of Allah (swt). The person who gives hidden charity is one of the seven who will be offered shade. The Prophet (saw) said: “The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.” (Tirmidhi) Sadaqah creates balance and benefits to all of society Sadaqah benefits the whole community and ensures that the most vulnerable, including orphans, widows, the sick and needy, have an equal standing in society. Remember, any act of kindness is Sadaqah, not just money. The Prophet said: “Your smile for your brother is a charity. Your removal of stones, thorns, or bones from the paths of people is a charity. Your guidance of a person who is lost is a charity” (Bukhari). info@sktwelfare.org +44 (0) 300 3020 786

  3. Sadaqah is a way to earn rewards after death. By giving Sadaqah Jariyah in either your name or that of a loved one who has passed on, you can earn continuous rewards now and in the hereafter. Examples of Sadaqah Jariyah include building a well, school, hospital, or masjid. The beauty of Sadaqah Jariyah is that you earn a reward every time it is used, for as long as it is used. The Prophet (saw) said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).” SKT Welfare operates a 100% donation policy and aims to help relieve the suffering of the world’s poorest communities.
