  1. When should you use knee wraps?

  2. Knee wraps are worn for the purpose of knee protection and are usually worn by competitive bodybuilders and powerlifters (powerlifting knee wraps). Made of elastic, similar to the one, used to make wrist wraps, they are intended to be wrapped around the knee in a diagonal or spiral way to get knee support for squats.

  3. What are knee wraps good for? Knee sleeves prevent injury by providing compression, which warms up the connective tissue, increases blood flow, and reduces swelling and pain post-workout. Thanks to knee sleeves providing lateral stability while limiting patella movement, they might be able to increase performance levels during your workouts.

  4. Do wraps help with knee pain? Wrapping your knee with an elastic bandage can help decrease pain and disability from osteoarthritis by supporting and stabilizing your knee joint. Knee wrapping can also help decrease swelling after an injury by applying slight compression to aid in the return of blood and lymph flow back to the heart.

  5. What is the difference between knee wraps and knee sleeves? Knee sleeves are made of neoprene and provide warmth and enhanced blood flow to the knees and surrounding muscles. Knee wraps are made of elastic material and worn as tight as possible to increase the load lifted.

  6. Are knee wraps worth it? The good news is yes, they're definitely worth a try. Knee wraps allow you to lift more weight and improve your squatting technique due to the energy created by the wrap pressure. As with anything (especially lifting gear), there are those who support and those who oppose the use of knee wraps.

  7. What size knee wraps should I get? You'll commonly find knee wraps between 72 inches and 82 inches. As you'll find with our knee wraps, we prefer an 80-inch length, which is long enough for beginners and most veteran lifters.

  8. Is it OK to wear a knee sleeve all day? You can wear them all day but that will be counterproductive. Knee sleeves are meant to prevent injuries like torn ACLs, strains and cartilage wear but these certainly won't occur when you're performing “normal” routines.

  9. Do squats damage knees? Squats aren't bad for your knees. In fact, when done properly, they are really beneficial for knee health. If you're new to squatting or have previously had an injury, it's always a good idea to have an expert check your technique. 10. Do knee sleeves weaken knees? A knee sleeve that provides compression and warmth to the knee, generally will not limit any range of motion and are not likely to cause any atrophy at all.
