  2. Client Background • Every year, Cross Gates Family Fitness runs seasonal tennis and sports camps for kids between 4 and 16 years old. Groups are formed based on age and skill level, and there are different options for attendance during the day. Activities go from 8 am to 4 pm, and include tennis, soccer, swimming, and other outdoor activities that vary every week. Before and after care is provided, as well as lunch and snacks every day. Campers may register for one or several weeks during the summer. The client has requested a web application for registration and camp administration.

  3. Project Overview • A web application that allows parents to register their kids for Tennis & Sports Camp over the internet • An administrative tool that helps to organize camp activities • An integration of a database and a web service that keeps track of campers registered for each week of camp, lunch orders, and before and after care requests.

  8. Conclusion • Developing the web application for Cross Gates Family Fitness was an interesting and fun experience. Having the client participation throughout the development cycle has helped significantly to gain knowledge about the domain. Surprisingly, I did not have to deal with many requirement changes from the client (which I was expecting from past development experiences). On the other hand, the design changed significantly, which at the beginning was undefined and complex, and ended up simpler than expected. From this project I can conclude that experience plays a major role in efficiency (hours devoted vs. quality of product) of the developers in the process.
