Li-Fi Set To Revamp Wireless Data Communication For The Better

Over the years, consumers have embraced 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi. Although these protocols are great at the moment, they’ll soon be surpassed, by something even better. This is where the Li-Fi technology comes into the picture. This technology is said to be one hundred times quicker than current Wi-Fi technology and is said to be able to achieve speeds of 1 GBPS.

Li-Fi Set To Revamp Wireless Data Communication For The Better bodhost.com/blog/li-fi-set-to-revamp-wireless-data-communication-for-the-better/ Over the years, consumers have embraced 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi. Although these protocols are great at the moment, they’ll soon be surpassed, by something even better. This is where the Li-Fi technology comes into the picture. This technology is said to be one hundred times quicker than current Wi-Fi technology and is said to be able to achieve speeds of 1 GBPS. What Is Li-Fi? Li-Fi originated in 2011 in Edinburgh, by the German physicist, Harald Haas. At the time, Haas spoke about his brand new company, pureLifi. He envisioned a future, in which he would be able to bring high- speed network to the entire world. He also announced his intention of using illumination to spread the signal. This is the case, because Li-Fi relies on LED bulbs, which behave like semi-conductors. When these bulbs are utilized, the Li-Fi can be transmitted at higher speeds than traditional Wi-Fi signals. The Advantages The world is abuzz with the new Li-Fi technology. This is no coincidence. The tech has a number of excellent benefits. 1. Readily Available – Even the most remote locations in the world are blessed to have light sources. This also means that they’ll be able to access Li-Fi technology. 2. More Efficient – Another major benefit is the fact that Li-Fi will not need separate gears to transmit the data. The majority of individuals in the world already utilize some type of LED light source, so installation costs can be kept to a bare minimum. 3. Added Security – Unlike Wi-Fi, Li-Fi signals will not be passed through walls. This will help to ensure that it is much more secure and more difficult for criminals to access. So Now You Know… All in all, it is hard to know what the future will hold, but Li-Fi definitely seems to be very promising. We can only cross our fingers and hope that the technology lives up to the hype it has already generated.
