  4. GolGumbaz • GolGumbaz is the mausoleum of king Mohammed Adil Shah, Sultan of Bijapur. Construction of the tomb was started in 1626 and WAS completed in 1656. The name is derived from its structure "GolGombaz" which means "circular dome". It has the style of Deccan architecture. The structure is composed of a cube on each side. It has eight intersecting arches created by two rotated squares that create interlocking pendentives support the dome. It has a dome-capped octagonal tower seven stories high with a staircase inside. The upper floor of each tower opens on to a round gallery which surrounds the dome. It has an area of 1,700 m2 and has one of the biggest single chamber spaces in the world.

  5. Shivagiri • Shivagiri has a Lord Shiva Statue which is 85 feet tall. It was installed by the T.K. PatilBanakatti Charitable Trust in Vijayapura (Bijapur) on Sindagi Road. It is slowly turning into a pilgrim location. The 1,500 tonnes statue of Lord Shiva is considered as the second largest statue of Lord Shiva in India and was prepared by sculptors from Shimoga. An old age home is coming up inside the premises and it is named as Basant Van. It is said that it can accommodate 52 members and the capacity will be enhanced gradually. Women will be given preference in admission.

  6. The Bijapur Fort • The Bijapur Fort has a rich history. It was built by Yusuf Adil Shah in 1566 using Materials like Granites and lime mortar. The fort contains palaces, mosques, tombs and gardens. The architecture is inspired from Pertians. It is said that the Adilshahis, during their reign of 200 years, built over 50 mosques, 20 tombs and 20 palaces. Bijapur has, therefore, been called as Agra of South India. Apart from these monuments, Ibrahim II also built the Dattatreya Temple, to the west of the citadel. It contains a pair of paduka (foot sandals) of saint NarasimhaSaraswati.

  7. JalaManzil • JalaManzil is located very close to the Sat Manzil. This is a water pavilion. SaatManzil and JalManzilwerare part of the Citadel which was enclosed within the fortified walls during the rule of the Deccan Sultanate.
