Student Taxi App Dash Which Develop By Richard Commins

Project Dash was established by students at NUI Galway (Driving All Students Home). Students can still order taxis even if they don't have cash, a bank card, or a phone. Since the service's launch in Galway and Carlow, thousands of college students have enrolled for it, along with a few taxi businesses. Richard Commins, a senior studying corporate information systems at NUI Galway who managed the project's development, attended yesterday's programme launch at UCC. He said that Dash started as a college project to address a student problem.

  1. Richard Commins make an App to Revolutionise the Taxi Market

  2. The idea for Flag evolved from a similar student taxi app called Dash, which Richard commins developed while in his final year of Business Information Studies at NUI Galway.

  3. His team has created an innovative app that boasts pin point location tracking and accurate Estimated Time of Arrival as well as extra safety features such as wallet-less payment (the only taxi app in the world providing this service).

  4. Flag a taxi via the app just like other apps but also ensures drivers get paid if passengers have no cash, card or phone on them. Your photo appears on the driver's phone and you can pay with nothing on you. That’s why we call it the wallet-less feature.

  5. Who is Richard Commins A 23-year-old tech graduate from Galway who has created an app that allows students to get a taxi to get home safely, even when they have no cash, bank card or phone, is in the driving seat to become a Nissan Generation Next ambassador. Richard Commins from Claregalway is now just one step away from landing the keys to a brand new taxed and insured Nissan to drive for a year having been named as one of 20 finalists put forward to the public voting stage of the competition. He was one of almost 1,000 people who applied to the innovative ambassador programme which helps people to follow their dream and to get ahead with the backing and support of Nissan
