  1. Traveling with your family during COVID-19 Families around the world travel for recreation or necessity. The COVID-19 pandemic has not ended. Travel continues to be dangerous and difficult in many places around the globe. Here are some tips for traveling with loved ones. Is it OK to travel during the COVID-19 Pandemic?   Every travel involves some risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19. Check to make sure COVID-19 has not spread in your area or in the destination you plan on visiting before you go. If you, your family members, or friends have ever been in contact with someone with COVID-19 within the last 14 days, do not travel. Family members with unvaccinated relatives who are more at risk of severe illness (older members, people with underlying medical conditions) may want to postpone travel until they have been fully vaccinated. Consider postponing any visits to friends or family members who may be more susceptible to becoming very ill due to COVID-19.

  2. Is it safe for me to travel after having received the COVID-19   vaccination?   Like any activity that involves contact with people from other households, traveling is not completely safe even after being fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The good news? Having the right number of vaccines and waiting for them to take effect reduces the risk of getting seriously ill or spreading the virus. Two-dose COVID-19 vaccines provide partial protection after the first dose. You will need to wait approximately 2 weeks before your second dose is considered complete protection. Maximum protection against COVID-19 is available for a single-dose vaccine. This protection begins after you have received your shot. Remember that there is no vaccine that provides 100% protection against COVID-19. Check local guidance and COVID-19 transmission rates for information about the precautions that you should take. I have recovered from COVID-19. Do I still need to be   vaccinated before I travel?   People who have been infected with COVID-19 before should be vaccinated again, regardless of whether they are traveling or not. Most people infected with COVID-19 produce antibodies and immune cells that are capable of fighting off infection. However, the immune response is variable and it's not clear how long this protection will last. The immune protection that could prevent another infection in mildly ill people may decrease within a few weeks. Remember that getting vaccinated doesn't only protect you; it also protects those around you. What should we do to prepare for traveling together as a   family?   You should check the websites of Ministries of Health and Ministries of Foreign Affairs to see if there are any restrictions on travel or stay-at-home orders. Also, make sure you have all the necessary quarantining and testing requirements. These policies can change quickly and could cause disruption to your travel plans.
