Breast Reduction Cosmetic Surgery for Male- Gynaecomastia Surgery

  1. Gynecomastia Surgery- Breast Reduction Cosmetic Surgery for Men in India What is Gynecomastia? Gynecomastia is a benign, abnormal, growth of the male breast gland which can occur unilaterally or bilaterally, resulting from a proliferation of glandular, fibrous and fat tissue. It is estimated that this pathology occurs in 32–65% of men over the age of 17. Gynecomastia is a psychosocial problem and may lead to a perceived lowering of quality of life . But the good news is that now the condition , can totally be corrected . Cause of Gynaecomastia: The main cause of Gynecomastia is a loss of equilibrium between oestrogens and androgens. Increased sensitivity for oestrogens of the breast gland, or local factors (e.g. an excessive synthesis of oestrogens in breast tissues or changes in oestrogen and androgen receptors) may cause gynecomastia. Also, prolactin, thyroxine, cortisol, human chorionic gonadotropin, leptin and receptors for human chorionic gonadotropin, prolactin and luteinizing hormone localized in tissues of the male breast may participate in the etiopathogenesis of Gynecomastia.

  2. Clinically Gynaecomastia is graded as follows: Grade 1: Small enlargement, but without excess skin over the chest Grade2a: Moderate enlargement, without excess skin over the chest Grade2b: Moderate enlargement with extra skin over the chest Grade 3: Marked enlargement with extra skin over the chest. Treatment depends on the grading of enlargement: Grade 1: men can be treated with liposuction alone with very good results. Such surgeries are simple day care procedures with fast recovery.

  3. Grade 2a: men require a procedure called lipo-excision wherein, liposuction of the chest is combined with removal of the breast tissue. Here the chest is molded to coordinate an ordinary chest utilizing liposuction and after that, the breast tissue is evacuated utilizing a 2- 3cms entry point close to the areola. Around 90% of the breast tissue is removed to give the chest its normal male contour. Removing 100% of the breast or doing forceful liposuction can prompt a sunken chest appearance (likewise called hole distortion). Such complications should be avoided when dealing with gynecomastia. Other rare complications include asymmetry, scar complications, collection of blood in the operated areas and bruising. Sometimes a drain (a plastic tube) may be placed at the operated site to drain out any collected fluid or blood. It is usually removed by the 2nd day after surgery. Grade 2b: men also can be treated with lipo-excision alone in >90% cases. Some may require another surgery after around 3-6months for skin fixing to handle the abundance skin. Grade 3: generally always requires skin tightening. Which is the Best Clinic for Gynaecomastia treatment?
