Health Education Program on Cancer at Chunchanakuppe (28th February 2025)

In honor of World Cancer Day, observed on 4th February 2025, a comprehensive Health Education Program on Cancer was conducted on 28th February 2025 at the Chunchanakuppe Rural Health and Training Centre (RHTC). The initiative aimed to raise awareness about cancer prevention, its causes, symptoms, and available treatments among the local community and visitors of RHTC.<br>

TheprogramwasorganizedbytheDepartmentofCommunityMedicine,ledbyDr.ShashikalaManjunatha,Headof theDepartment,andDr.HarshaGowdaJK,AssistantProfessorandIn-ChargeofChunchanakuppeRHTC.The eventalsosawactiveparticipationfromthedepartment’sinternsandstaffofRHTC. KeyFeaturesoftheProgram: InformativeHealthEducationSession:Attendeeswereinvitedtoasessionwhereexpertsdiscussedvariousaspects ofcancer,includingitstypes,causes,symptoms,diagnosis,andpreventivemeasures. EducationalMaterials:Toenhanceunderstanding,visualaidssuchasplacards,charts,andinformativeposterswere displayed,makingthesessionmoreinteractiveandengaging.

  2. InteractiveLearning:Participantsweregivenin-depthinformationonhowtodetectandpreventcancer.Theprogram emphasizedlifestylechangesandearlydetectionmethodsaskeypreventivemeasures. LungCancerAwarenessPlay:Acreativeandinformativeshortplayfocusingonlungcancerwasperformedbytheinterns.Thisdramaticpresentationeffectivelyconveyedcrucialmessagesabouttherisksandpreventivestepsrelatedtolungcancer. Q&ASession:Theattendeeshadtheopportunitytoaskquestions,withexpertsaddressingtheirconcernsand providingfurtherinsightsintocancerpreventionand management. Conclusion: TheCancerAwarenessProgramatChunchanakuppeRHTCwasasignificantsuccess,providingvaluablehealth educationtothecommunity.Theeventequippedparticipantswithknowledgeaboutcancerpreventionandcontrol, fosteringasenseofempowermentandresponsibilitytowardhealth.
