  2. Rapid Mixer Granulator also known as high shear mixer is used for wet blending, humidification, homogenization and power grinding. In industries, high shear mixer is sometimes used with fluid bed dryer for granulating the industrial materials and get better results. There are numerous applications of rapid mixer machine. This machine is widely used in industries for pulverizing, humidifying, homogenizing and blending of drug materials. Also, this machine can be used in the industries for blending of wet and dry powders. This machine is a perfect choice when it comes to the granulation of strong materials. High shear mixers are also used for tablet manufacturing which requires controlled granule size, homogenized blending and lower preparation time. In pharmaceutical companies, rapid mixers are widely used. It is used to blend medical ingredients before taking it for further compression process. It is also used to render the granules in pharmaceutical industries. Rapid mixer granulators comprise of impellers and choppers. These impellers and choppers are used to break the materials into fine particles and are used in wet granulation process.

  3. The biggest advantage of this machine is that it is used for granulation of exceptionally durable materials containing hydrophilic polymers. Such type of granulation cannot be obtained from low shear mixer. That is why in pharmaceutical industries, low shear mixer is a less favorable device as compared to high shear mixer which is a high favorable device. The time required for high shear mixer process is more as compared to low shear process. But for high shear processes, the amount of labor required is low as compared to low shear processes. With high shear mixer, the drying time is less as compared to low shear mixer where the drying time is more. Some of the disadvantages of a rapid mixer granulator are debasement of powder, over wetting and creation of less compressible granules.
