Jaadooghar, Nandi Hills, blends a modern architectural philosophy with age-old construction techniques. Connoisseurs of eco-tourism are bound to notice how thoughtfully this place has been put together, utilizing traditional techniques without compromising on the build quality. For instance, the floors are varnished with wax to increase its durability; the walls have been painted with a carefully churned paste made from the Japanese fruit ‘Persimmon’ which makes the house termite-free without the need to spray chemical additives. Additionally, the house has a sprawling garden where the choicest of veggies and fruits are grown including avocados, guavas, chillis etc. The mud house reflects an earthen aura not just from the outside but also from the inside, to give you a feeling of being amidst nature even while being indoors. You can also enjoy the beautiful hill views from the rooftop. Notes about the property: The property is located in a secure gated community right off the main Nandi Road, easily accessible by car. The house has a huge kitchen and you will have access to even non- Indian fusion delicacies, if you order in advance and there is a common outdoor dining area overlooking the lush valley to enjoy your meals. The property boasts of a rustic theme and an expansive swimming pool for the guests to enjoy. Please note that due to the cooling properties of a mud cottage there are no ACs in the room. The property has a bountiful in-house farm consisting of an herb garden growing rosemary, thyme, lemongrass; fruit trees such as papaya, guava, avocado; veggies such as cauliflower, radish, spinach, etc. The hosts try to use freshly harvested produce for all meal preparations, to the extent possible. Their in-house farm is completely pesticide-free and 100% organic, making the produce fresh and as hygienic as possible. Jaadooghar Recommends: Try out the Tibetan and some fusion delicacies prepared by the in-house cook! They also have a barbeque grill and all related paraphernalia (special BBQ charcoal, bamboo & iron skewers) which can be fired up, on your request. Swimming Pool & Other Activities The property is equipped with a lovely swimming pool that has been newly constructed. The pool is located right next to the veggie garden; therefore you can have a fun time splashing around, while enjoying the sights and smells of the local produce - a truly unique experience. You also have access to amenities such as a tennis court, giant chess, jogging track, a kids’ playground etc. in the gated community where this property is located.
