  1. Best Fun Maths Activities for Primary Students Have you ever felt music? In this world, everyone will say YES, but if I ask, have you feel the rhythm and the music of Maths. You may not agree with it? We, at Greater Noida Podar Learn School, make your child feel the music of Mathematics. “Mathematics is the music of reason.” – James Joseph Sylvester Math can be fun! The famous scientist Albert Einstein said, “Creativity is intelligence having fun.” Engaging activities can make learning math enjoyable for primary students. Create mathematical games for primary students such as a math scavenger hunt, play math bingo, bake cookies to teach measurements, or play games like “Math War” or “24 Game” to practice mental math. Use everyday examples to demonstrate math relevance. They should be part of goals for children’s learning and development. Why Fun Maths Activities Matter in Primary Education? As Galileo Galilei said, “Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe.” Make math interactive and accessible through shape art, story problems, and math challenges. Top Fun Maths Activities for Primary Students Following are some math games for primary students- 1. Activity for Ages 5–6 (Foundation/Prep)- Number Hunt in the Classroom Objective of this activity is to do number recognition and counting. How to Play: oTeacher Hides number flash cards (1–10 or 1–20) around the classroom. oGive a checklist to kids. oTeacher asks kids to find and collect the numbers in correct order. oOnce found, kids place the cards on a number line or count aloud together. oAdd fun by making kids shout out the number and do a jump or clap! 2. Activity for Ages 7–8 (Grades 1–2)- Shape Building with Matchsticks & Clay Objective of this activity is to understand 2D shapes and sides. How to Play: oTeacher provides matchsticks and small balls of clay to class. oShe asks students to form basic shapes: triangle, square, rectangle, etc. oStudents will count sides and corners together and then they will compare shapes. 3. Activities for Ages 9–10 (Grades 3–4)- Math Bingo (Multiplication & Addition Focus) Objective of this math activity is to practice quick calculations. How to Play: oTeacher creates bingo cards with answers (e.g., 6, 9, 12, 15, etc.). oShe calls out math problems like “3 x 2”, “7 + 2” etc. oStudents solve and mark the answer on their card. oFirst to complete a line shouts “Bingo!” oTeacher can mix addition, subtraction, and multiplication to make it more dynamic. 4. Activities for Ages 11–12 (Grades 5–6)- Math Scavenger Hunt (Real-World Applications) Objective of this activity is to apply math in daily life. How to Play:

  3. oGive students a list like: oFind something that’s 10 cm long oMeasure the perimeter of a table oCalculate area of a book using scale oSpot a symmetrical object in the room oEstimate weight of your bag oThey work in pairs with rulers and measuring tapes. oEncourages movement + real-life math = lots of fun & learning!
