Mobile Notary El Paso and Apostille Services +1 915-261-7687 Mobile Notary El Paso Notary Tips For Becoming More Successful Whether you are a notary just starting out or a well seasoned veteran these helpful tips will keep you on your toes, head above water, and in front of many notaries getting burned in the fires of the mortgage decline. Tip 1: In order to get jobs advertising your business and yourself is number one. But where is important. It is not a bad idea to spend money on directories and websites that will get you listed and advertise your site. In fact much of your business will come from web traffic if you go to the right sites. Sites that are good are NotaryBay (best) then 123notary, notarycafe and others. These are all directory sites that will get you jobs. Most of you knew this one and skipped right over. They get better. Tip 2: Hook up with Countrywide and title companies directly. Countrywide is one of the few lending companies that hire mobile notaries directly. Find out who is in charge of the office close to you, get in there and find ways to earn their business. Other title companies will pay really well, if they don't go through a signing service. Local companies near you are the best for networking and getting consistent clients. Countrywide is great because it is huge and has many offices to work on. Tip 3: Referrals and testimonials. This is essential to the success of a notary's business, but most notaries don't think about it. Get referrals from customers or borrowers of other people needing a loan etc... take it back to the lender and say "here are 3 more people who will earn you money, now use me for each of these signings." That is a great way for you to do nothing, and pay nothing, but still earn potential profit. Tip 4: Why say no? Why do notaries constantly say no to signings when they are under their minimum amount? You are not just doing a single job for a title company or signing service, you are creating a relationship that may last and continue to one or 2 jobs a day, besides on "NO" and they never call you again. Examine the industry right now and see if you can say no to revenue each month. I think the industry has gotten too tight to say "no". Tip 5: Other Industries: With the slow market, notaries can use their skills for other vocations. Some of the interesting ones that have proven successful are on-site inspections, single doc signings, consulting, and appraisals (appraisals require additional training, but can be another niche industry to get into). The most important one to mention is single docs. Many notaries turn these down when they are right down the street because they will only get paid $20 - $30, but they only take 10 minutes to do. Think about it next time you get called to do one. Through these tips and hanging out on the various notary forums you should get through the slow times and generate enough revenue to survive. Here's to the business and it's eventual return. "Cheers!
