  1. Understanding the difference between Face Moisturizer and Body Moisturizer If your cabinet is filled with jars and bottles of various cleansers, makeup, and creams, then you may have wondered if some of these products can do twofold duty. For instance, you may wonder if a body moisturizer can work as a facial moisturizer. There are several reasons that explain why facial and body skin should be treated differently: Skin is     very delicate and thin on your face and thicker on your body especially     hands and feet and hence it needs to be treated differently.

  2. The     body is usually exposed to harsher conditions than your face is. You can     wash your hands in harsh soap several times a day while you might only     wash your face once or twice with a mild cleanser. The swelling effect is     that your hands can be much drier, even bleeding and cracked, and as a     result need stronger moisturization. Your     face has different requirements than the rest of your body. Hence the face moisturizer for oily skin is     different from that of the body moisturizer. You usually do not get     blackheads and acne on your body and while you may be looking to tauten     wrinkles on your face this is not usually a concern on your body. Facial and Body Moisturizers are made differently These products are made in a different way and for a good reason. As the skin on your face has different requirements than your body and as a result needs a separate moisturizer. The main job of body moisturizers is to alleviate dry skin.

  3. They use heavier moisturizers like mineral oil and petroleum which provide an outstanding barrier and keep skin from losing moisture and better guard against harsh conditions. However, these types of moisturizers can be too profound for the face and can block pores. While facial moisturizers also alleviate dry skin they can offer other benefits such as anti-aging, sun protection, and even anti-acne. Facial moisturizers must be lightweight and should not clog pores. Anti-aging versions will have film forming agents that constrict skin to help lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. While face and body products may share some of the similar fundamental ingredients, the functions they need to carry out can be significantly different. Using the correct product on the correct skin will give you better results. Thus, when it comes to choosing moisturizer for your face make sure that you are not choosing a body, hand or foot moisturizer.
