  1. What's Next for Street Lighting Systems? Introducing LED Street Lights! Street lighting systems have come a long way since the early days of gas lamps! These days, street lightings are more than just utilities; they're safety and security sources and provide aesthetic appeal to any city or town they illuminate. Read on to learn more about what LED street lights can do for your community! Why Do We Need A Better System? Many people don't realize that today's street lighting systems are very much lacking. With light-emitting diodes (LED) gaining popularity, it makes sense to consider their pros and cons over their traditional counterparts when deciding how to upgrade or maintain existing infrastructure. In short, LEDs are more energy-efficient than other forms of street lighting; they last longer; provide better visibility, and cost less in terms of both initial installation costs and ongoing maintenance fees.

  2. The Traditional Approach Incandescent bulbs have been common in street lighting since Thomas Edison's time. LEDs have many advantages over incandescent bulbs and can be used to create a more efficient, versatile design. LEDs are more durable than traditional incandescent lights and can last up to 10 times longer. They also use less power than incandescent bulbs—about 25% of what is required by HID or fluorescent lights. The New Age Technology - LED Street Lights Despite many technological innovations in our society today, some techniques have been around for years and have to be fully implemented in other fields. One such technology is LED street lightings. LED lights significantly improve from traditional incandescent bulbs because they produce high-quality light that lasts a very long time.

  3. Benefits of LED Street Lights LEDs are rapidly replacing traditional bulbs, and many municipalities have invested in their street lighting. Today, many cities are installing LED lights because they're far more energy-efficient than traditional high-pressure sodium (HPS) and metal halide (MH) bulbs—and much more versatile. Advantages Of LED over HID The first and most obvious advantage of LED lights is cost. Compared to HID lamps, LEDs are much more energy efficient in terms of watts consumed per lumen generated. This difference results in a greatly reduced electricity bill from utility companies - especially if street lights are on all night long. Because LEDs typically last at least 20 years with moderate maintenance, assume that investors will spend less money replacing bulbs than they would with an HID system over time. How Do They Work? LEDs are just one type of solid-state lighting technology, and in many ways, they're a better option than older technologies. LED street lights can last longer without being replaced or repaired, use less energy (and generate less heat), and require no ballasts to operate. These lights aren't a universal fit—specifics vary from town to town.
