Police Refute Southport Stabbing Suspect’s Name CirculatingonTwitter:AComprehensiveExamination Southport, July 29, 2024: In a recent update regarding the tragic stabbing incident in Southport, Merseyside Police have refuted claims circulating on Twitterand other social media platforms about the suspect’s identity. The police have urged the public not to spread unfounded information and speculationabouttheattacker,asafullinvestigationiscurrentlyunderway. Thestabbingincident,whichoccurredonHartStreetinSouthporton Monday, resulted in the tragic deaths of three children: a nine-year-old girl and two others aged six and seven. Eight additional children suffered stab wounds, with five of them in critical condition, and two adults were also hospitalizedwith severe injuries. Yesterday, Merseyside Police arrested a 17-year-old boy from the nearby villageofBanks,locatedapproximatelyfivemilesfromSouthport.The suspect, who cannot be named legally due to his age, is being questioned onsuspicion of murderand attempted murder. Despite the arrest, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police emphasized that thenamebeingsharedonsocialmedia,particularlyTwitter,isincorrect.

This tragic event highlights the devastating impact of knife crimes and the urgentneedforpreventativemeasurestoensurethesafetyofour communities,especiallythe mostvulnerable amongus.
