  1. WHAT IS EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET contains Ondansetron, which belongs to a group of medicines called Anti- emetics. It is used to treat and prevent nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy or radiotherapy. EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET is also used after surgeries (operation) to prevent nausea and vomiting. Before taking EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have severe constipation, heart or liver problems, imbalance with the levels of salts in the blood, such as potassium, sodium and magnesium or if you have been scheduled for any surgery. EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy. This medicine may pass through the breast milk hence it is not recommended during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

  2. The dose of EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET will depends on the age, body weight and disease condition of your child. Dosage adjustment is not required in elderly patients, hence consult your doctor before taking EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET.The most common side effects of taking EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET includes headache, flushing and constipation. Consult your doctor if any of these above symptoms gets worse. USES OF EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET Used to treat and prevent nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery HOW EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET WORKS EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET is a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist (specific chemical receptor) which works by blocking serotonin receptors in CTZ chemoreceptor trigger zone (zone in the brain that is responsible for causing nausea and vomiting). DIRECTIONS FOR USE Take EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food. For Tablet, Capsule: Swallow EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse the medicine in the specified quantity of water as mentioned in the label. Consume the medicine immediately after reconstitution. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection. SIDE EFFECTS OF EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET COMMON Headache Flushing (feeling of warmth) Constipation UNCOMMON Uncontrolled body movements along with upward rolling movement of the eyeballs Fits (seizures) Irregular heartbeat (fast or slow) Chest pain

Fainting or feeling dizzy (low blood pressure) Hiccups RARE Visual disturbances like blurred vision Effects of heart rhythms resulting in feeling lightheaded or loss of consciousness Stop taking EMESET ODT 4MG TABLET and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects: Sudden wheezing and chest pain or tightness Swelling of eyelids, face, lips, mouth or tongue Skin rash, red spots or lumps under your skin (hives) or anywhere on the body.
