Work Based Learning: A learning experience that connects knowledge and skills obtained in the classroom to those needed outside the classroom, and comprises a range of activities and instructional strategies designed to assist students in developing or fulfilling their education plans (WAC 180-50-315).
Learning gained from work experience that involves the development of programme content from work roles. Based on the principle that learning, wherever it takes place and provided that it can be assessed, can be used to provide credit towards the achievement of academic awards. Employers that consider education and training takes place in the training room,- but learnt on the job. Quite formulaic want something ‘they can hold in advance’ for their investment – (where is the learner)
