  1. Archery Fundamentals SCORING Go for the GOLD!

  2. m m JOAD Scoring • Every ring has a point value. • The closer to the center, the higher the points scored. • The smallest center ring also scores 10 points, and is indicated by an “X” on the score card. X’s are used as tie-breakers, but only for outdoors. 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 m m

  3. JOAD Scoring m m • Any arrow that breaks a line between two scoring rings is scored as the higher score. • Any hit outside the largest ring is a miss.(“M”) • Any arrow that misses the target butt is a miss. (“M”) 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 m m

  4. JOAD Scoring Casey Muellenbach x x x Be sure to fill in the top half of your score-sheet before the match begins.

  5. JOAD Scoring Casey Muellenbach x * x x * 6 4 3 3 13 13 * Record the score for each arrow from highest to lowest. Then add the arrow scores to get a score for the end.(Hits are no longer counted)

  12. Remember: • Write with a pencil or dark pen – no funny colors. • Archers are allowed to change an arrow’s score only if all archers initial the change. You can still get a judge to make the change and to call an arrow, but there is no appeal to the judge’s call.
