13. Who can apply? • CTM and RCD application can be filed by any natural and legal person • No representative is necessary for applicants with domicile or principal place of business in the EU • Applicants from outside the EU need a representative domiciled in the EU

14. What does it cost • CTM • 1050 € for 3 classes, any extra class 150 € • 150 € reduction for e-filing: 900 € • RCD • 350 € (230 € registration and 120 € publication fee). Multiple applications reduce the costs

15. How long is valid CTM • Protection: • 10 years from the filing date • CTM enforceable as from publication of the registration • Renewal: • Every 10 years, provided that the renewal fees are paid (indefinitely possible!) • Renewal fees: • 1500 EUR paper renewal • 1350 EUR e - renewal

16. How long is valid Design • Protection: • 5 years from the filing date • Renewal: • One ore several times for 5 years up to a maximum of 25 years • Renewal fees: • Individual renewal fee between 90 to 180 €, depending on the period of renewl
