Those who attended the Path to Change Women’s Leadership Summit in Seattle, WA, were given five tips on their way to career development and leadership success. The summit was filled with workshops, networking opportunities and a panel that included women in executive positions such as Talaat Captan, Pam Good fellow-Bristol and Maureen Moriarty. The Path to Change leadership summit touched down in Seattle at the Center for Spiritual Living Capitol Hill on Sept. 27. Co-created by Moriarty, a Seattle based executive coach, the summit is a one-day event filled with hands-on training, speakers and tons of opportunities to network with like-minded professional women from Washington and beyond.
Path To Change is designed to help women take control of their careers and personal growth by creating a community for these goals. This is accomplished with three core areas of focus: 1) Connect 2)Coach 3)Lead. 1. ConnectThe first step on the path to change is to connect with other professional women who can help support and guide you on your journey. The summit provides attendees with plenty of opportunities to network and build relationships with fellow participants. You can also join forces with like-minded individuals by forming study groups or starting a mentorship program.2. CoachIt’s important to have someone in your corner who can offer advice and guidance as you navigate your career development. A coach can help you identify roadblocks, set goals and create a action plan to achieve success. The Path To Change leadership summit provides attendees with access to some of the top coaches in the industry, so you can get started on the right foot.
3. LeadOne of the best ways to accelerate your career growth is to take on a leadership role within your organization or community. This doesn’t mean you need to be appointed to a formal position – there are many ways to show initiative and lead without being officially in charge. Whether it’s organizing an event, spearheading a project or taking on additional responsibilities at work, leading by example is sure way to demonstrate your capabilities and commitment level. 4. Get InvolvedThose who want to fast-track their career growth should get involved in their organization or community. Getting involved shows that you care about your work and are willing to go above and beyond your normal job duties.
