Biomass Feedstock

A complete range of biomass feedstocks have been evaluated Over 150 hours C4H4 runtime in total

  • Green Waste

  • Rice Hulls
  • Corn Trash

  • Gas analysis with GC (Gas Chromatograph) after gas clean-up
  • Greenwaste feed
  • Gas CV approximately 7 MJ/kg [range 6-12 MJ/nm3]
  • Gasifier gas approximately 3-4 MJ/kg depending on feed
  • Clean gas suitable for use in engines or boilers
  • Minimal ‘’tar’’ < 250 mg/m3 from hot gas filter prior to scrubbing
  • Renewable source of energy

  • Char yield between 27 and 50% of feed (dry)
  • Activation to give high surface areas – up to 800 m2/g
  • Sampling possible directly from kiln or char activator
  • 50% Carbon from biomass remains in char – sequestration potential
