Rolling stock maintenance tools are an assembly of two wheels that are fixed to the axle and do not have independent movement. There are flanges on the inner side that act as guides for the wheels to play on railway tracks and act against derailment.

  2. Wheel Wear Measuring Gauges Railway / Rolling Stock wheels have flanges on the inner side which act as guides for the wheels to play on railway tracks and act against derailment. Locomotive/ Coach wheels undergo heavy linear and transverse forces subjecting them to wear and tear. As part of normal wear and tear, flange defects tend to crop up over a period of time e.g., thin flange, deep flange, sharp flange, less radius at root of flange etc. The wheel profile gauges offered by PIE  can be used for measurement in the pit or on the rails. The electronic models can either be used for manual measurement or transfer the data through Bluetooth interface. We offer gauges with accuracy ranging from 1 mm to ±0.01 mm. All our gauges come with Calibration Certificate.
