  1. NATURAL FIBERS LIKE WOOL AND SILK SHOULD BE BANNED SCIENCE ACTIVITY PRESENTED BY DIVYAM AGGARWAL CLASS 6A ROLL NO 12

  2. Have you ever wondered how your pretty wool sweater and silk dress got to you ? Well, let me tell you. Many sheep and silkworms had to sacrifice their lives for this. That is why these fabrics should be banned

  3. Mistreatment of Sheep Sheep are genetically modified so that they can produce more wool. Negligence and poor animal care Sheep die at an early stage due to diseases and lack of hygiene. Environmental Pollution This industry has been ranked as one of the world’s five worst industries for toxic-metal pollution. Why should we ban Wool ?

  4. Why should we ban Silk ? Exploitation Eachyear, silk industries exploit millions of silkworms and other animals, causing pain and sufferings. Painful Death of Insects Silk is derived from cocoons of larvae, so they do not pass their pupa stage as they are steamed or gassed alive in their cocoons. At least 2500 silkworms are killed to make every pound of silk.

  5. Alternatives Cotton It is a plant based fiber. Linen It is considered the perfect textile for summer and planet. Bamboo fabric It is called the most eco-friendly fiber. Its texture is similar to that of silk. Lyocell / Tencel This biodegradable fabric is made from eucalyptus pulp. Modal It is prepared from beech wood.

  6. So, if you want to protect the planet and dress humanely, remember that recycling is the key. So shift to environment – friendly fabrics as more and more brands are offering clothing made from recycled fiber.
