  1. www.takshilalearning.com Ascending Order : NCERT Class 2 Maths Worksheet ascending order class 2 maths Class 2 Maths Worksheet : Ascending Order – Definition, & Example Ascending order worksheet This worksheet is for class 2 maths and it comprises the topic of Ascending order. It will help students to have a better understanding of comparing quantities and number systems. After solving the worksheet, students will be able to answer the following questions: 1.What is a number line? 2.How to compare two quantities? 3.What is an ascending order? To understand the number system, you should first be familiar with a number line. Call @8800999284

  2. www.takshilalearning.com What is a number line? A number line starts from 0 and contains all the possible numbers in maths. Using this number line, you can find out which number is greater or less than a given number. How to compare two quantities? In order to compare any two quantities, it is a must to have a level ground to compare the two quantities. For example, if we compare the height of you and your friend, we first must make sure that you both are standing on the same ground and that none of you is standing on a higher ground than the other one. After standing on level ground, the height must get measured by a third person for fair competition and correct results. Similarly, if we want to compare two numbers, we must start comparing them from a level ground (0) on the number line. Call @8800999284

  3. www.takshilalearning.com Starting from 0, if the given number falls left or before the other number on the number line, the given number is considered lesser than or smaller than the other number. For example, let us compare the numbers 8 and 10. The number 8 falls to the left of the number 10 on a number line. Thus, we can say that the number 8 is smaller or lesser than the number 10. Similarly, if the given number falls on the right or after the other number on the number line, the given number is considered to be greater than the other number. For example, let us compare the numbers 8 and 10 again. As we discussed, the number 8 falls to the left of the number 10. Therefore, the number 10 falls on the right of 10. Hence, we can say that the number 10 is larger than the number 8. What is an ascending order? After understanding how to find larger and smaller numbers, we will now understand the ascending order. When numbers are arranged from smallest to largest in a given basket of numbers, that arrangement is known as ascending order. Let us understand this with an example – Let us consider the following random numbers – 12,54,26,28,23,27,15 Call @8800999284

  4. www.takshilalearning.com We have arranged the numbers above randomly. They do not form a specific pattern, nor are these numbers connected. If the question asks to arrange the numbers in ascending order, we will first write the smallest number on the left side. In the above series, it is 12. Then we will write the second smallest number, 15 in this case. We will continue this activity till we reach the largest number. And what is the largest number among all these numbers? Try using the number line, and you’ll know – That’s right! It is 54!!! So now that we’ve learnt how to arrange numbers in ascending order, let us try some fun exercises!
