  3. www.takshilalearning.com What is simple present tense? The simple present tense is a verb tense that describes current situations, fixed routine actions, and occurrences. It uses the base form of the verb unless the subject is third person singular, in which case a form with the addition of ‘s’ or ‘es’ is used. Let’s understand this with a simple example! Let’s consider the verb ‘eat’. Singular Plural First Person I eat We eat Second Person You eat You eat Third Person He/she/it eats They eat Example – Eat, eats, sleep, sleeps, read, reads, come, comes, etc. Simple Present Tense Examples – Example 1 Ram sleeps at night very early. Here, since we are talking about third-person (Ram) singular, we use the base form of the verb with s/es (sleeps). They sleep very early at night. Here, since we are talking about third-person (they) plural, we only use the base form of the verb (sleep). Example 2 Call @08045681010/8800999284
