Lingva Business English ProjectsMarksmanship Something about history of marksmanship Marksmanship is a sport in which, using different types of handguns and shotguns, marksmen shoot into movable, immovable and flying targets. Marksmanship is a standard sport and a part of modern Olympic games. World Marksmanship Sport Federation has about 160 country members. This is one of the oldest sports, because in ancient and medieval times there were held open competitions in shooting with a slingshot or with the bow and arrow. Sports shooting a bow and arrow is still held today and it is very popular in some countries, especially in the United States.

  13. Lingva Business English ProjectsMarksmanship Jasna Šekarić is one of the most successful people in the Serbian sport. She won the gold medal (discipline Air pistol at 10 meters) at the Olympic game in 1988. At the same Games, she won a bronze medal in the pistol sport. She continued with successes in Barcelona in 1992, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004, winning three silver medals in the air pistol event . At the Olympic Games in 1988 Goran Maksimović won the gold medal in the following event: air service rifle, and at the 2012 Olympic Games his daughter, Ivana Maksimovic, won a silver medal in small caliber rifle, three positions, as well as a gold and two bronze medals at the European championships.

Lingva Business English ProjectsMarksmanship Zorana Arunović became the world champion in 2010 in the Air pistol event and won a gold medal at the European Games 2015; other successful shooters are Nemanja Mirosavljev, Damir Mikec, Bobana Veličković, and Andrea Arsović.The most successful shooting clubs are Red Star, Partizan and Novi Sad 1790. These days Zoran Arunović was declared the best athlete of the Red Star club in 2015.
