  7. NDA and Charity • Several members have raised funds on a personal basis for specific charity activities • Dr Arun Jha organised successfully a Mental Health Camp in Janakpur • Dr Shabin Joshi donated £1000.00 equivalent books and surgical instruments to the neurosurgery unit at Bir Hospital

  8. Strengths of NDA Charity • Socio-professional organisation • Has expertise and skilled manpower in almost all branches of medicine. • Platform for networking • Limited finance • We have done it; possibly we could do better

Challenges of NDA Charity • Limited budget • Not having clear project plan /Lack of focus • Lack of coordination of charitable work • Group approach (NDA) Vs individual approach in charitable giving • Not able to organized full blown charitable event (regional basis / individual) • No follow up and feedback of recipients

  12. Activities we want to support • Health camp • Health post • Hospital • Health related research project • Innovative health project

  13. Tentative activities for 2008 • Hospice Nepal • Establish a bursary of up to Rs 36, 000 Nepalese rupees per year to support a medical student from Dalit/Janjatis
