  • Provide cancer chemopreventive activities, protection against stroke damage, beneficial effects on brain function (Rimando et al. 2004)

Fresh and dried fig samples homogenized in methanol and 60% acetone

Conclusions
  • Figs contain antioxidants; some dried figs may contain as much as green tea!
  • More investigation on this topic may reveal a marketable health benefit to consumers to eat more figs!
