Countable nouns with a/an You can use a/an with singular countable nouns. You don’t use a/an with plural countable nouns. Roger is eating a hamburger. Not: Roger is eating hamburger. Roger is eating two hamburgers for lunch today. Not: Roger is eating a two hamburgers for lunch today.
Uncountable nouns with a/an In English, you cannot use a a/an with uncountable nouns. I like music. I love rock music. Not: I like a music.
