A causative is when a subject causes someone / something else to do something let: the causative verb My brother let me drive his car. My brother: causes the action to happen me: the agent that is performing the action drive: the action © 2014-2021 Global Online Language Services Inc.
Common causative verbs are let, make, have and get subject (causing the action to happen) causative verb agent performing the action I got the mechanic to check the brakes.
