Since 2001, supporting evidence has proven its effectiveness. Change the way you think and you can change how you feel and behave. Assertiveness and procrastination are both common issues with self-management. These issues can be tackled by a Cognitive Behavioural coach. Procrastination Procrastination can be among the most common problems in self-management. In some way, we all try to put off doing things that are not crucial. The cbti coach will spend time looking into the client's situation to determine what is behind their procrastination, whether it's caused by perfectionist tendencies or a lack of ability to establish reasonable limits or if the task doesn't feel as though it has significance or purpose. The strategies used by the coach will depend on the underlying motive behind the delay. In order to help someone start the coach could suggest a different approach to taking on a task they are reluctant to do. Instead of focusing on the spreadsheet they need to keep up to date the spreadsheet, a coach could encourage the client to start thinking about the task as something that they decide to do. Procrastination can lead to a variety of unwanted consequences including poor team performance and stress to affecting workplace and personal relationships. Positive effects in other areas of your life can also be achieved when you provide individual tools to help manage your procrastination. Assertiveness/Communication Skills When Elton John sings that "Sorry seems to be the toughest wordto say," for certain people, it's easier to get to the lips than "no." Learning to assert oneself is an important communication capability for all aspects of our lives. Cognitive Behavioural Coaching is a method for those who are struggling to stand up for themselves at work to learn the necessary language for dealing with unreasonable demands. The coach will discuss the reasons for procrastination and ways to address the issues. For example clients may struggle to assert themselves before a senior peer, while peers could be easier. The client will be asked to recall some of the times when they were unable to assert themselves and the negative consequences that this had. The lack of assertiveness could be related to a fear of rejection or desire to be liked by other people. The coach will assist the client discover new ways to assert their self-confidence. In the workplace, lack of assertiveness may cause an employee to accept an excessive workload or even to tolerate the bullying behaviour of a coworker. Difficulty Making Decisions

  2. A lot of people struggle to make critical decisions and also when making adjustments in their lives. Making decisions requires energy and clarity. It's normal to feel uncomfortable when confronted by significant changes for example, the decision to relocate or leave your job. If that fear or discomfort hinders one from making the required changes, it may lead you to the life of a series of sentences starting with "if you only." Sometimes the reaction to making decisions in these situations can be paralyzing indecisiveness, or excessive decision-making. Indecisiveness may manifest as over-analysing, seeking every day more information that delay making a decision. On the other end of the spectrum, one may act too quickly and make decisions without doing enough research. The process of making decisions is essentially a method of solving problems. The coach can help clients overcome issues with decision-making. When the client has become aware of their decision-making style, the coach will act as a facilitator for the client experimenting with new approaches to making decisions. Working with a coach can allow the person experiencing change to build their the ability to adapt, so that even the decision doesn't turn out the way they expected, they are able to overcome any disappointment and get on with their lives more quickly. Wider Benefits Here are some examples of how working with a Cognitive Behavioural Coach can help.
