  2. Troubleshooting Steps to Fix Epson Printer Error Code 0x97 Step 1: Unplugging the printer • When addressing this issue, the first step should be switching off and then restarting the printer. Switch off your printer and unplug all the USB cables connected to it, then press the power button. Now, wait for a few minutes, then restart it again by connecting all its USB cables and switching ON the printer. • And make sure that before performing this step, your printer is not jammed with any paper or other materials, and is disconnected with all the wires and ink cartridges. If the issue is somewhat minor, this process may work, but if it’s still the same, then consider following the next mentioned steps.

  3. Step 2: Clean the printer • The dirt clogged in your printhead could be the reason for this error. Cleaning the printhead may help you to get rid of it. Your printer must be unplugged and switched off while the cleaning process. • What you need • a wet piece of cloth. • Open the printer case. • Remove the ink cartridges. • Take a piece of cloth that should be slightly wetted with warm water, or you can also use an ammonia-based cleaning liquid. • Clean the printhead and the nozzle area with that cloth carefully and gently until there is no stain of ink left. • Now, place that wet cloth under the printhead for a few hours, this will absorb the ink. • After a few hours of keeping the cloth under the printhead, now put out the cloth and let the printhead get dried. • Rearrange the printer, and switch it on to check if the error still occurs or not.
