  2. Tips on Fixing Slow Computer Disable heavy performance programs - some programs are the reason behind making your computer slow without you knowing. Here you need to check if any programs are of no use and consist of maximum performance. Open task manager, then click on the "startup tab" you will see a list of programs that are running on your PC, and on the right side, under the "startup impact" category, you can see the performance level of each program, which list as "low" "medium" and "high".
