3. ABOUT UNIVERSITY To fulfil the needs of students in this state, the government of Andhra Pradesh decided to create a new law institution. Also, the governor of Andhra Pradesh issued the Andhra Pradesh university of law ordinance, 2008 on July 8, 2008. Following that, on 04-08-2008, the cabinet approved the Andhra Pradesh University of Law Bill, 2008, which replaced the ordinance, and this bill was passed by the state legislature on 28th August 2008 and became an act after being assented to by the governor on 23rd September 2008. However, the AP University of Law was established, with the main campus in Visakhapatnam and two campuses in Kadapa and Nizamabad. Furthermore, the name “Andhra Pradesh University of Law” was changed to “Damodaran Sanjivayya National Law University” by the Andhra Pradesh University of Law (Amendment) Act, 2012 (Act No 15 of 2012), which was published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette Extraordinary on May 14, 2012.
