3. ABOUT UNIVERSITY The Acharya Nagarjuna University has been in operation for three decades. However, the previous President of India, Sri Fakruddin Ali Ahmed, inaugurated it on September 11, 1976. 8. INFRASTRUCTURE The Acharya University provides a great learning experience to its students. Additionally, AU has also ensured to make the student experience better as well. Now, read below to know more about the Infrastructure at the University of Andhra: Library: The Acharya University Library was constructed on August 19, 1976, as an upgrade to the former Andhra University P.G. Centre, which had been founded in 1967. On that date, the A.U.P.G Centre Library collection of 18,900 papers served as the foundation for the Acharya Nagarjuna University Library. Later that year, in 1990, the library was renamed AMBEDKAR MEMORIAL LIBRARY.
