Here is all you need to know if you want to work on campus with your student visa: If you have come to Canada on a student visa then you should know that you can only work once your studying term begins. Yes, you read that correctly. You cannot work before starting your studies no matter how much you want. www.nanda.ind.in

  2. Another thing that you should keep in mind is that people who come to Canada on a student visa are only permitted to work if their student visa allows them to do so. The student visa will clearly state that you are authorized to work on and off-campus. If it does not explicitly state that, it means that you are not allowed to work. Here is how you can work with a student visa work permit: If you are a full-time post-secondary student at one of these places: A public post-secondary school, college, or university A private school or college in Quebec that has the same rules as those of a public school A private school in Canada that is authorized to give degrees under the provincial law You can also work under a student visa, if: You have a valid student visa permit You have a Social Insurance Number (SIN) www.nanda.ind.in

Here is when you should stop working on campus: The last day of your program The day your student visa permit expires Then you get an authorized leave from the program you are enrolled in The day you decide to switch your program The day you opt-out of the program you got enrolled in If you decide to resume your studies, you can get back to studying. Make sure that you are taking care of all the requirements of working on campus that is stated in your student visa permit. Where can you work with your student visa? If you are looking to work on campus, it means that you can only work under the premise of your enrolled degree program. If your program has multiple campuses, you can work in the one where you take your most classes. Here is how and when you can work at a different campus location: If you are a teacher If you are a research assistant If you are in Canada for a research grant Who all can work off-campus with a student visa? While you are a full-time student in Canada, you can work off- campus 20 hours per week. During official breaks and vacations, you can work more than 20 hours per week.
