  2. Organizational development is a term that is often used in context with organizational functions. It consists of a number of ideas that are not commonly used but most of us know about them. Strategic organizational development is all about making use of the right ideas and techniques to improve organizational effectiveness.

Organizational development can be best explained as a critical and science-based process that helps organizations build their capacity to change and achieve greater effectiveness by developing, improving, and reinforcing strategies, structures, and processes • Strategic organizations development is all about making use of scientific findings for creating structured and controlled processes in which assumptions are tested and their efficiencies are judged before they are put to practice • It aims to change and achieve greater effectiveness as it has a number of business outcomes; these outcomes can be different between organizations but in most of the cases they include financial performance, customer satisfaction, organizational member engagement, and an increased capacity to adapt and renew the organization while for some they also include building a competitive advantage, in whichever way that is defined

Strategic organizational development does not have predefined goals as goals differ with organizations but one thing is clear; it is all about increasing an organization’s competitiveness as it is the idea that has unique resources and competence that helps organizations beat the competition and meet the rapidly changing market demands • Strategic organizational development CT focuses on helping organizations assess their current functioning and tweak it to achieve their goals; it is an ongoing process that has employee development, profit increase and service and product growth at its heart and provides organizations a chance to manage operations most efficiently
