On this special event, Dr. (Prof.) Balvir S. Tomar praised the pharmacists for their immense contribution to mankind by saving countless lives and shared his experience in the field of medical science. Dr. (Prof.) Tomar talked about his work on eliminating the severe disease found in children with a 100 percent mortality rate, known as ‘Indian child cirrhosis’. He explained that with the access use of utensils made of brass at earlier times and, as brass contained a lot of copper in it, many children were intaking copper into their bodies unintentionally, which led to copper serum getting inside their bodies and eventually getting stored in their livers. Because of certain genetic disorders, copper was getting absorbed by the intestines in a high quantity which ultimately became Indian child cirrhosis and caused many deaths. Dr. (Prof.) Balvir S. Tomar did research on this disease and found out that D- Penicillamine was able to slow down the effects of copper in a toxic manner and ultimately that became a turning point. Now there was a cure for Indian child cirrhosis and Dr. (Prof.) Tomar’s seminal work on Indian child cirrhosis was published internationally and served as a centerpiece in the prevention of this deadly disease which ultimately lead to its annihilation. Further, he also mentioned his contribution during the corona havoc

  2. and his research on ashwagandha commonly known as Indian Winter cherry or Indian Ginseng, ginger, black pepper, basil leaves, and honey. Dr. (Prof.) Balvir S. Tomar found out that these herbs are able to increase the immunity of patients and realized that where the patients were getting corona-negative in 10 to 12 days, now they were able to become corona-negative in 5 to days. Listening to Dr. (Prof.) Tomar’s contribution to the field of medical science resulted in everyone sitting in the audience including students becoming confident and realizing the true meaning of seeing dreams when awake and not asleep. Eventually, the conference provided students with new clinical research development opportunities and confidence with a focus on enhancing the quality, efficacy, and safety of medications through clinical research in order to create a healthier world.
