In a landmark initiative aimed at transforming the landscape of primary education, National Academy of Defence Production (NADP), in collaboration with Munitions India Limited (MIL) and the Womenu2019s Welfare Association (WWA), successfully conducted its first-ever Faculty Development Program titled u201cEmpowering Primary School Teachers.u201d Held on June 24, 2025, this online training brought together 93 dedicated educators from 12 primary Ankur Vidya Mandir schools managed by MILWWA at various locations. Milan Hazari President, Dr. Anupama Naik Vice President of MILWWA and Ms. Sunita Farde Coordinator MILWWA who reaffirmed their commitment to improving the quality of education.

NADP Conducted First-Ever Faculty Development Program for “Empowering Primary School Teachers” The training sessions were thoughtfully designed to address the multifaceted needs of primary school teachers. Dr. J P Dash CGM of NADP Nagpur, inaugurated the program with insights into effective learning mechanisms and best teaching practices. Dr. Punita Pandit Upadhyay followed with a deeply engaging session on integrating human values and spiritual insights into education. Sharada Subramaniam, Chief Operating Officer and Founder of GENSMART EdTech, led a dynamic session on leadership development, team building, and coaching, empowering teachers to become mentors and role models.

NADP Conducted First-Ever Faculty Development Program for “Empowering Primary School Teachers” Prof. Shalini Verma introduced the importance of environmental education, encouraging teachers to foster sustainability in their classrooms. Dr. Indu Mazumdar, the training coordinator from NADP, conducted two impactful sessions—one on implementing the foundational stage of the National Education Policy 2020 through activity-based learning, and another on using digital tools to enhance the transfer of learning.

NADP Conducted First-Ever Faculty Development Program for “Empowering Primary School Teachers” The program underscored the vital role of teacher training in improving educational quality, student outcomes, and systemic equity. It aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 for Quality Education, SDG 5 for Gender Equality, SDG 10 for Reduced Inequalities, SDG 8 for Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 17 for Partnerships for the Goals. Speaking at the event, the President of WWA emphasized that the quality of an education system cannot exceed the quality of its teachers. Dr. J. P. Dash echoed this sentiment, stating that education is the most powerful weapon to change the world and that every child deserves a champion. Dr. Indu Mazumdar concluded by highlighting that investing in teachers is investing in the future of our children and our planet.
