  1. How to Celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at Home Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the biggest festivals of North India, honouring and worshipping Ganesha, the God of intellect and good fortune. The festival includes ganesha idols, pandals, lights, good food, sweets, and worship for 10 days. It is a time to rejoice with family and friends in the festivities and fun. But considering the current world situation, many of us are unable to join the local festivities, but we should still heartily enjoy the essence of this grand occasion. Here are some simple ways to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at home. Ganesha idol – The most important aspect of this festival is the ganesha idol. Bring a beautiful clay idol into your home, instead of those harmful plaster-of-paris ones. Go for an eco friendly Ganesha murti to start your pooja the right way.

  2. Worship – Clean your entire house before the festival and welcome the Lord into your home with the whole family. Keep the idol on a raised platform and offer flowers, sweets, and incense for blessings. You can even call a pandit to perform proper mantras and rituals for the pooja. Sweets – It is said that ganesha loved laddus and modaks which are types of Indian sweets. Make these delicacies at home for offerings as well as for family and friends. These sweets hold the essence of ganesh chaturthi. Make sure to gorge on good food as well for celebration. Lights – Indian festivals are nothing without lights. Decorate your house beautifully with diyas, candles and fairy lights. Gifts – And finally, get into the festive spirit by buying new clothes and gifts for yourself and your loved ones. Festivals are all about the love shared between family and friends so embrace the warmth and blessings of ganesh chaturthi.
